Who we are

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry [1] founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Learn more about our founders [2].

Local Habitat for Humanity affiliates:
We have more than 1,500 local affiliates in the United States and more than 80 national organizations around the world. Together, we have helped to build or repair over 600,000 houses and serve more than 3 million people worldwide.  Learn more about our affiliates [3].

Our most famous volunteers:
Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife Rosalynn [4] are Habitat's most famous supporters. The couple annually leads the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project.
