AMERICUS, Ga., July 23, 2004 — Habitat for Humanity International’s Global Village & Discovery Center is changing its hours of operation and its admission price. All changes are effective Aug. 3, 2004. The village will be closed Aug. 1 and 2.
The Village and Discovery Center’s new hours are Tuesday through Saturday, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. The admission charges are $5 for adults, $4 for seniors, $3 for students ages six and up, and children under six are free. Groups of 10 or more will receive a $1 discount on all tickets and patrons riding the SAM Shortline will also receive $1 off admission price. Groups of 20 or more can schedule tours for any time during the week, including Sundays and Mondays. To make group reservations, please call 924-5823 or 924-6935, Ext. 2373.
More than 1 billion people worldwide live in poverty housing. The Global Village & Discovery Center works to raise awareness of those living conditions and to showcase the work the Habitat for Humanity does across the globe. The village can be an eye-opening experience for any person, from the smallest child to adults.
