AMERICUS, Ga. and TEMPE, Ariz. (June 5, 2007) — Habitat for Humanity International and Mobile Mini Inc. (NASDAQ GS: MINI) of Tempe today announced an expanded partnership. Mobile Mini will provide more storage units to Habitat affiliates across the country increasing the donation from 330 to 400 units, sponsor the building of a Habitat home in the Phoenix area and provide its employees as volunteers for various builds around the United States.
Additionally, Mobile Mini has agreed to provide this level of support for three more years, which represents an estimated rental value of between $1.5 million and $2 million. Furthermore, Mobile Mini has also agreed to continue to provide Habitat affiliates deep discounts on its mobile and security office units.
Around the country, Habitat affiliates use the containers to store materials and building supplies in advance of builds and recycled building materials to be sold at Habitat’s ReStore operations, and Habitat’s international headquarters has used the mobile office units as offices and rest quarters during major events such as the annual Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project.
Steven Bunger, chairman, president and CEO of Mobile Mini said, “Our association with Habitat for Humanity is nearing two years. Back in 2005, when we signed our initial agreement with Habitat, we envisioned expanding our support of their fine work over time and that is exactly what has happened. Our partnership with this very admirable nonprofit organization is a source of pride for our entire organization and I am proud to say that Mobile Mini’s corporate commitment to Habitat has sparked a number of our people into volunteering for builds.”
Mobile Mini units typically rent for about $115 a month plus transportation costs, so the partnership proves a useful service at no cost to Habitat affiliates.
“We are so grateful to Mobile Mini for extending their partnership with Habitat for Humanity,” said Monte Walker, director of Corporate Partner Development for Habitat for Humanity International. “The storage units will allow Habitat affiliates to have a safe and convenient place to keep tools and other building materials when homes are being built, and warehouse storage at our retail locations. They also can provide a build-site office space when needed.”
