Automaker has donated $2 million to Habitat since 2008 to help build affordable housing
ATLANTA (Nov. 8, 2010) — Habitat for Humanity International has been selected as a nonprofit partner for the Subaru “Share the Love” event for the third consecutive year. Subaru of America, Inc. designed the program to give back to the community through leading social organizations. Since the launch of the “Share the Love” event in 2008, Habitat for Humanity has received more than $2 million to support its mission of providing safe, decent and affordable shelter throughout the world.
“Over the past two years, the support from Subaru has helped Habitat boost homeownership and rehabilitate neighborhoods,” said Mark Crozet, senior vice president of resource development for Habitat for Humanity International. “We are honored to once again be participating in the “Share the Love” event and are thankful for the support both Subaru and Subaru owners have provided to transform communities and eliminate poverty housing worldwide.”
In 2009, Habitat for Humanity built, rehabilitated and repaired more than 6,000 homes in the United States thanks to support from partners like Subaru.

For every new Subaru sold or leased from November 20, 2010, to January 3, 2011, Subaru will donate $250 to the customer’s choice of five charities:

Meals on Wheels Association of America
The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
Big Brothers Big Sisters
