Manatee County Habitat for Humanity hosted a luncheon for 40 friends on March 8 to celebrate a current Women Build project in the Hope Landing Habitat community in Ellenton, Fla.
The event took place on International Women’s Day and included a presentation by Mary Dailey, co-chair of an international film festival called Through Women’s Eyes. Through Women’s Eyes is a festival that partners with the Sarasota Film Festival to present films by women directors and those dealing with significant women’s issues.
Ana Reyes, future Women Build Habitat homeowner, was also a presenter. She shared her appreciation for the generosity of volunteers and donors and spoke of her excitement in partnering with Manatee Habitat.
The luncheon was a great success and is likely to become an annual Women’s Day event in honor of the contribution made by women in Manatee County in the mission of Habitat.
