Dear Care-A-Vanners

On a build, I like to make one of my devotions about Habitat’s mission statement. I think it is always good to review the “Why” in Why We Build.

Habitat for Humanity’s mission statement:
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Think about it. What does that mean to you?
Here is what it means to me: A world where everyone has a decent place to live. And that is Habitat for Humanity’s mission vision.

How do the RV Care-A-Vanners fit into this?

The RV Care-A-Vanners mission statement:
RV Care-A-Vanners are ordinary people from all walks of life, many retired, some on their vacation. We all share a common mission to further the work of HFHI through advocacy and by assisting local Habitat affiliates, who act as hosts, in accelerating and/or supplementing their building and rebuilding programs.

The RV Care-A-Vanners are out there every day pounding the 40,179 nails into 600 pieces of lumber that go into an average three-bedroom Habitat house. You are wonderful advocates for Habitat in the communities you visit and you give the local affiliates and the homeowners a real hand up.

Keep up the good work and hold these mission statements near to your heart.
