The mission of Girls Build is to partner with youth organizations to educate preteen girls about Habitat for Humanity, homeownership and community needs.

About the Girls Build program
Girls Build is a complete, ready-to-use curriculum for educators and youth leaders of girls ages 10 to 16. At this age, children move beyond simple acceptance of their surroundings and begin to develop an awareness of the circumstances that impact their lives. The Girls Build curriculum won an American Inhouse Design award because its layout is easy to follow, teach, implement and replicate.

The importance of Girls Build
Today’s girls face pressures from peers and society that are different from those of just a generation ago. Making the right decisions in the face of these influences can be difficult for any girl. For girls growing up in lower socio-economic conditions, the pressures and the risks are much greater.

Girls Build provides a fun learning environment to builds girls’ confidence in making successful decisions about their future. Girls Build is also a great way to involve girls who want to get involved in Habitat’s ministry in some way but are not yet old enough to work on a build site.

The program has been specifically designed to be used in groups. Use the Girls Build program with girls involved with Habitat affiliates, Girl Scout troops; Boys & Girls Clubs; Girls Inc., church groups, etc.

Girls Build program kits are available now
Habitat affiliates and community organizations can purchase the kit for $72.30 by filling out the online order form and then faxing their billing information or mailing a check to the address given.
