Step 1: Get the information you need.
Read What You Need to Know.
Step 2: Choose potential hosts.
View the site lists to determine where you would like to go. Please determine the top three affiliates you would like to visit.
Step 3: Submit the trip request form.
Submit a Fall/Winter/Summer break inquiry. Using the information you provide, we will contact your preferred Habitat host affiliates and determine whether they are available to host your group during the time you are requesting. Please do not submit this form until you are certain that your group will be participating in a trip. Trip requests must be submitted at least six weeks in advance of your desired Collegiate Challenge dates.
Information needed to complete the request form:
- The week of your break.
- The number of participants on each team. (Include faculty advisers.)
- Your top three host affiliate choices.
- The team leader contact information.
Please note: this request form is not for spring break registration. Spring break registration uses a different online registration system.
Step 4: Wait for a representative from the Collegiate Challenge team.
A Collegiate Challenge team member will contact you within seven business days to update you on the status of your request. Once a Habitat affiliate has agreed to host your group, the Collegiate Challenge team will contact you to register your group.
Step 5: Confirm your trip.
Within one month of registering, your team must send a completed confirmation form along with your $20-per-person, nonrefundable program fee to the Collegiate Challenge office. Any trip that has not been confirmed within one month will automatically be canceled. (Extensions can be granted upon request.)
To find out more about the Collegiate Challenge cancellation policy, read What You Need to Know.
Step 6: Read the confirmation materials.
Your trip is confirmed after Collegiate Challenge receives your group’s program fee and confirmation form. Afterward, you will receive a confirmation email from our office that contains action items for the team leader to complete including contact information for the host affiliate site. The email will also contain links to several online resources, such as leader and participant guides, insurance information and guides for managing a safe and successful trip.
Step 7: Send in completed forms.
Complete program requirements, enter participants’ names in the online team roster and file participant waivers.
Step 8: Contact your host affiliate.
It is your responsibility to make the first contact with your host affiliate to start making arrangements (i.e., directions, arrival time, etc.). We also suggest that you take some time before your trip to meet with your group for some team-building activities.
Step 9: Have a great trip!
