YOUTH PROGRAMS TEAM

Evan Davies
Learn and Build Experience program associate

I recently moved back to the states from a year in Rwanda where I taught economics, business and a current events writing class to secondary school children and members of parliament. I’m a graduate of Appalachian State University where I studied international politics and economics. I’ve also spent some time in Washington, D.C. working on advocacy projects. I’m excited to join the Habitat family and work with Youth Programs.

Nick Hericks
Collegiate Challenge supervisor

I first became involved with Habitat in 2002, at the campus chapter level. My excitement to work towards the Habitat mission began while participating in my first of four Collegiate Challenge trips. Before graduating from the University of Wisconsin, where I studied community leadership, I had a summer position at Habitat for Humanity of Dane County as a grant writing intern. I was a corps member with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps in 2005 and a team leader in 2008, where my team spent half the year leading volunteers on Habitat work sites in the U.S. Gulf region.

Caitlin Lamb
Learn and Build Experience program associate

I came to Habitat to work with the Learn and Build Experience program, cultivating a love of service-learning. I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a degree in sustainable development. During college I was active in community service, leading alternative break trips and organizing volunteer events. For the past three summers I have worked with inner-city youth at a wilderness camp in the mountains of Georgia. I am excited to work with youth programs and serve as a catalyst for involvement.

Cody Logsdon
Youth Volunteer Engagement manager

I became involved with Habitat for Humanity three years ago when I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for a Habitat affiliate in Rochester, Minnesota. My job was to increase youth involvement, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. It was my work in Rochester that led me to apply for a job at Habitat for Humanity International. I began at Habitat for Humanity International supporting campus chapters program.

Rebecca McWhorter
Learn and Build Experience supervisor

I came to Habitat for Humanity following several years of working in the resident camp industry. I am excited about the opportunity to work with Habitat’s Youth Programs, coordinating the Youth United program and the summer Learn and Build Experience.

Jennifer Skudlarek
Campus Chapter associate, Eastern United States

After Hurricane Katrina, I spent some time in the Gulf Coast helping to rebuild. My eyes were opened to how huge the need for decent housing really is. Since then, I have stayed involved in Habitat’s mission to eliminate poverty housing by volunteering on builds and serving on the family services committee of my local affiliate. I am very excited to charter and assist chapters in supporting the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Barbara Smith
Campus Chapter associate, Western United States

September 2009 was the start of a life-changing journey, when I arrived in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to help build Youth and Faith Relations through the AmeriCorps VISTA program. I have developed such a passion for the ministry of Habitat for Humanity to spread God’s love by eliminating poverty housing, and being a part of the Habitat’s Youth Programs team is a wonderful way to empower youth to build their communities.

Cyrus Weigand
Youth United coordinator, AmeriCorps

I began volunteering with Campus Chapter at Bluffton University (Ohio) in 2007. While studying history and marketing I was privileged to lead three Collegiate Challenge trips, which allowed me to experience Habitat’s transformative influence in different areas throughout the country. After graduation, I served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with my hometown affiliate, HFH of Summit County in Akron, Ohio, helping to launch our Youth United group.

Allyson Drinnon
Volunteer Training specialist

I serve as a training specialist for the Volunteer Mobilization department, working to manage the Global Village team leader application and training process and to enhance and broaden training opportunities for volunteers. I have worked in several capacities at Habitat for Humanity since 2001, including the AmeriCorps federal grant program and the Global Village program.

Keldra Green

I became involved with Habitat for Humanity International in April 2007, when I volunteered at the front reception desk. I began working for Habitat as a mail clerk in June 2007, delivering mail and providing customer service to staff and visitors. Currently, I am an administrative assistant for the Volunteer Mobilization department, where I continue to provide excellent customer service to volunteers and staff.

Jo Ounalli
Volunteer Support Services administrator

I have been at Habitat for Humanity International since February 2002. I have appreciated the opportunity to be involved in Habitat for Humanity’s international and domestic efforts to eliminate poverty housing and be part of a fantastic team. In my role, I work with the volunteer engagement team to create positive and long-lasting relationships between Habitat for Humanity, volunteers and Habitat organizations.
