All submissions should illustrate the work of young people, ages 5 to 25, in partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Submissions should be straight photographs. Photographers may only use photo editing software to enhance color and contrast — nothing else should be manipulated. Photographer must provide Habitat with the following information for each photo:
• Brief description of image or file name or number (so we can distinguish which photo is which)
• Date image was shot (month, day, year)
• Photographer’s name
• Photographer’s title (e.g. campus chapter member, volunteer, etc.)
• Event (e.g. Collegiate Challenge trip, Act! Speak! Build! Week rally, etc.)
• Location (city, state, county)
• Size of image (in MB, if known)
• Caption information
• Name of category the photo is being submitted to
• Signed waiver. Scan and attach to e-mail, fax to (229) 410-7057, or mail to HFHI Youth Programs (Attn: Shelly Whittet, Photo Contest), 121 Habitat St., Americus GA 31709
Submitted photos must be scanned or digital images. Photos should be a of a minimum approximate size of 1.2MB when saved or shot as a maximum quality JPEG file, or approximately 5MB in size when saved as a Photoshop (PSD) or Tiff (TIF) file. If you have difficulties e-mailing photos because of their size, please contact youthprograms@habitat.org to discuss an alternate means of submission. Please remember that submission is not a guarantee that images will appear on the Habitat Web site. Habitat staff will decide the winner and/or use submitted photos on the Web site or in future documents based on their quality, the completeness of the accompanying information, the need for that type of photo, etc.
