Young Leaders Conference workshops

Below is a glimpse of what we offer each year. 

Audience members

Workshops are 30, 60 and 75 minutes in length. Audience members may include:
  • High school students
  • College students
  • AmeriCorps members and alumni
  • Young professionals
  • Youth advisers
  • Habitat affiliate staff
Workshops should be interactive and innovative, and provide resources that attendees can use on their campus and in their community. 

Workshop categories

Our workshops will fall into the three main categories listed below. 
  1. Framework
    Framework sessions will provide conference participants with the knowledge of Habitat, poverty issues and surrounding service.

    Workshops could include: Habitat programs, faith engagement, service engagement or educational resources and activities.

  2. Innovation
    Would you consider yourself a pioneer? Are you changing the way things are done? These sessions will focus on challenging the business-as-usual mentality. Sessions could include fundraising, creative volunteerism and storytelling.

    Workshops could include: resource development and fundraising, storytelling or social media.

  3. Action/voice 
    Action/voice sessions will help prepare participants to become well-rounded leaders in their schools and communities. Sessions will work to develop leadership skills and strengthen the voice of volunteers through advocacy.

    Workshops could include: advocacy, leadership development, group dynamics, team building or career development.
