Registration Grants Available!

Registration Grants Available!

We are excited to announce the availability of Registration Grants to make attending the Conference more affordable for you and your group.

Grant Overview

Each Registration Grant will provide up to three free conference registrations per campus chapter, Youth United group, or trip participant (Collegiate Challenge, Youth Immersion, Summer Youth Blitz, Global Village Youth Program), which may include their adviser and/or affiliate representative.

There are a limited number of Registration Grants available. While multiple groups (for instance, a chapter and a Collegiate Challenge group) may apply from the same school, preference will be given to groups from different schools.

Awardees will have ten days from notice of receiving the award to register for the conference and book their hotel rooms, or the Registration Grant will be given to another group.

Please do not pay the registration fees prior to applying for a Registration Grant. We are unable to refund registrations for any reason, even for a Registration Grant.

Criteria

Applications for registration grants must meet these criteria to be reviewed.

Campus Chapters: Chapters must have turned in their latest Annual Report, dues & a tithe. Grants will be awarded based on involvement of the chapter, leadership and potential of chapter representatives, and ability of chapter to cover remaining costs.

Collegiate Challenge: Collegiate Challenge groups must have fully completed and submitted the required confirmation, insurance validation and release and waiver forms for any and all Collegiate Challenge trips taken in the past 12 months. Grants will be awarded based on group’s history of working with Habitat for Humanity and interest in continuing to work towards elimination of poverty housing.

Global Village Youth Program: Participants must have successfully completed the trip. Grants will be awarded based on the individual’s continued involvement with Habitat for Humanity and poverty housing issues.

Youth Immersion (formerly Summer Youth Blitz): Participants must have successfully completed the full one or two week program. Grants will be awarded based on the individual’s continued involvement with Habitat for Humanity and poverty housing issues.

Youth United: Youth United participants must be a part of an active YU group that has a signed Letter of Intent on file.  Awards will be based on history and involvement as an active group within the affiliate and how well the group adheres to the four tenets of Youth United.

Deadlines

The first round of Registration Grants will be due April 30. All applicants will be notified of their status by May 9, 2008.

After April 30, grants will be considered on a rolling basis until October 1, 2008 and will be notified two to four weeks after their application is received.

Again, please do not pay the registration fees prior to applying for a Registration Grant, as we will be unable to reimburse you and the grant will be given to another group.
