Volunteers and homeowners are showing their appreciation for the hard work that was accomplished during this year’s Carter Work Project.
Working with local Habitat organizations, new and returning Habitat AmeriCorps service members will help to build or improve homes alongside future and existing Habitat homeowners and volunteers. Members are expected to contribute more than 426,700 hours of service during the 2021-2022 service year.
Each year since 2007, the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree on display in New York City is milled and donated to Habitat for Humanity to use in construction projects. Lumber from the 2022 tree was used to build a deck and planter boxes at Sarah’s Habitat home in Corinth, New York.
The five-year commitment will support Habitat’s efforts to help families and communities rebuild.
Pennington, a Georgia-born seed and lawn care company, will celebrate the anniversary of 75 years in business by partnering with Habitat for Humanity International to help build a home alongside volunteers and a future Habitat family in Greene County, Georgia, this year.
