The foundation’s contribution will support local Habitat organizations where Winnebago Industries has operations, Habitat’s RV Care-A-Vanner program, and Habitat’s neighborhood revitalization work.
Jessie hoped the home she’s lived most of her life would be a place her family could enjoy and pass down to future generations. That’s why she worked alongside Habitat for Humanity of York County, with support from Wells Fargo Builds, to help her make her home a safe place to live.
Our resources hub is a launching point for the other housing organizations to learn about and implement Habitat’s innovative aging in place solutions, resources and data with the goal of helping even more older adults age in the homes and communities they love.
By partnering with Habitat’s Aging in Place program, older adults across the U.S. are able to access the resources they need to age in their homes, while maintaining both their independence and quality of life. Young volunteer and advocate Kirby Page shares how she has pursued her passion and purpose with Habitat.
Nearly 20 years ago, Sarah began volunteering with Habitat while serving in the military. Now, as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity of Hillsborough County, she’s known for her longstanding commitment to safe and affordable housing and her ability to inspires other community members to get involved.
Twenty-two-year-old Kannika Nhem began volunteering with Habitat Cambodia in 2019 for personal growth. And while it has been a fun way to meet new people, develop her talents and explore her interests, she remains a volunteer for another reason.
“I find that the most important inspiration now comes from my fuller understanding of the housing issue in Cambodia and all the ways Habitat works to solve it,” says the university student. “Not only is Habitat Cambodia building safe shelters and environments, but they are also helping people increase their knowledge and skills so that they can keep their income and housing stable.”
Habitat for Humanity International and 84 U.S. Habitat affiliates have received $436 million in unrestricted giving from American author and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott.
