Habitat and Thrivent
Since 2005, Thrivent has partnered with Habitat to build safe, affordable homes in partnership with those living in poor housing conditions both in the United States and around the world.
Together, Thrivent and Habitat for Humanity help families in need of a safe and decent place to call home. We work with members of the community who put God’s love into action by pooling their power and passion.
About the Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent partnership
To date, our combined efforts have resulted in 24,981 individuals served with housing solutions. More than 6.3 million volunteer hours have been donated by more than 825,000 Thrivent clients and other volunteers. Additionally, Thrivent and its clients have contributed more than $276 million to Habitat since the Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent partnership began in 2005.
The Habitat and Thrivent partnership serves through two programs:
- Habitat and Thrivent Faith Builds brings local churches together to raise a roof, walls, funds and prayers to build a house in partnership with a family in their community.
- Habitat and Thrivent Worldwide allows volunteers to travel to international or domestic locations for a week or more at a time to build homes while experiencing other communities and cultures. Thrivent clients with a benefit membership may be eligible to receive funding support for a trip.
- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Habitat for Humanity and Thrivent are suspending all Habitat and Thrivent Worldwide trips until further notice. If you have questions, contact the Habitat and Thrivent Worldwide team at [email protected].
Can we count you in?
Thrivent believes that humanity thrives when people make the most of all they’ve been given. Bring your church, friends, family or just yourself. No experience is needed, and there is plenty of work for all skill sets and abilities. This is a meaningful contribution that lasts a lifetime.
