Chiang Mai, Thailand
Trip cost: US$1,900
Join this 10-day Global Village trip building new homes in Chiang Mai, Thailand!
Experience the delicious food, discover the ancient temples and soak in the scenic views of Thailand. With the friendly and hospitable people and rich culture, you and your team will be tempted to stay.
Because of Thailand’s rising tourist industry, many people have moved from rural to urban areas in search of work. Since affordable housing can be difficult to find, people are forced pay high rent in overcrowded areas with poor sanitation facilities. Partner with Habitat for Humanity Thailand to help bring strength, stability and independence to a family in need of a decent place to live.
After volunteering during the day, you will have free time in the evenings for excursions, relaxation and reflection. During your day off, you and your team will learn how to cook Thai food, explore Buddhist temples and observe exotic wildlife.
Global Village sends volunteers to build with Habitat for Humanity projects across the world. Get your hands dirty on the work site, meet families whose housing situations have been improved with Habitat’s help, experience the country like an insider and do it all alongside a team of like-minded volunteers. No experience is required! This build is your next step with Habitat to make the world a better place.
Program donation and fundraising
Of the cost, 59 percent is a direct contribution to Habitat’s work, and the rest covers your volunteer experience.
You may fundraise or give the program donation. Fundraising is as easy as telling your friends, family and co-workers about why you build with Habitat for Humanity. They may even ask to join the team! We set you up with a great website and coaching for success.
Volunteers are encouraged to set a fundraising goal over the minimum. Every donation you raise keeps Habitat building after your team returns home and helps us serve another family.

We will connect you with a team leader within two business days. The team leader will tell you more about the build and learn about you. Your team leader, Jan Roberta, will lead this team in the field and would love to speak with you. Email Jan at firstname.lastname@example.org.

She attended Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Projects for several years, including one in Thailand, then went to Romania and Kauai, Hawaii, as a Global Village team member. Jan has led 10 teams to Kauai, one to Alaska and one to Montana. Her favorite part of the experience is watching individuals come together to form a strong team and seeing people learn new skills.
