Trip cost: US$2,220

Join this trip to Kenya and deepen your understanding of the local culture as you build relationships and safe housing that improve the lives of children and other vulnerable populations.

In Kenya, the orphaned and vulnerable children population is estimated to be 2.6 million and predicted to increase. Habitat for Humanity Kenya’s Laikipia Vulnerable Housing Project focuses on ensuring children and vulnerable populations have the solid foundation of a safe, stable home. Through home repairs, renovations, new home construction and latrine construction, Habitat Kenya ensures that vulnerable populations can access safe, affordable shelter.

You’ll stay in double-occupancy rooms at a local hotel where breakfast and dinner will be served. Lunch will be provided on the build site. Work site tasks typically include fixing doors and windows, plastering, painting, making timber trusses or making interlocking stabilized soil blocks. Off the build side, you’ll have the opportunity to visit local markets, the equator, Ol Pejeta Conservancy ranch or William Holden Wildlife Foundation.
