Volunteer
Latin America and the Caribbean
Our volunteers are the heart that brings Habitat for Humanity to life. Every year, thousands of people around the world donate their time, their hands and their enthusiasm to build something far greater than walls — together, we build hope, community and a future.
Thanks to their commitment, we strengthen our mission that everyone deserves a decent place to live. Through different roles, projects and actions, every volunteer leaves a lasting mark of transformation.
Local Volunteering
Local volunteering is one of the driving forces behind our work in communities. People from diverse backgrounds contribute their time, knowledge and skills to support families facing housing challenges and to strengthen Habitat for Humanity’s projects.
Volunteers take part in a wide range of activities, including community engagement, building housing solutions alongside families, supporting national offices, collecting community data, updating housing models, designing communications materials, analyzing data and providing logistical support for events. Their contribution expands the reach and impact of our initiatives at the local level.
This program includes community, national and corporate volunteers and is present in Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile, and Trinidad and Tobago.

International Volunteering – Global Village
International volunteering offers people from different countries the opportunity to travel and share their time and skills while working alongside host communities on housing and community development projects. At Habitat for Humanity, this experience takes place through the Global Village program.
Global Village connects volunteer teams with local Habitat programs, promoting meaningful cultural exchange and a positive, sustainable impact. To ensure responsible and safe experiences, Habitat follows an accreditation process that guarantees standards in safety, safeguarding, staff preparedness and genuine partnerships with communities and partner families.
In Latin America and the Caribbean, the countries accredited to host international volunteers are Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, Brazil and Paraguay.
Applications to participate in Global Village must be sent directly to the global team at:
