Habitat Argentina and Cultural Association for Comprehensive Development work together in Santa Fe
Habitat for Humanity joins forces with the Cultural Association for Comprehensive Development (ACDI) to generate cultural change that will help more families to access adequate housing.
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (January 30, 2012) – Habitat for Humanity Argentina continues to work intensively by implementing new projects in the province of Santa Fe. Currently, Habitat Argentina is implementing a joint project with the Cultural Association for Comprehensive Development (ACDI), a social cooperation institution that promotes social and economic development in rural and urban areas.
The aim of this collaborative effort between Habitat for Humanity Argentina and ACDI is to generate sustainable cultural change that will lead to social development and allow families to access adequate housing. To meet this goal, both organizations are conducting a survey to determine the context and existing housing situation in the neighborhoods of Villa del Parque, Barranquitas Oeste y Villa Oculta, in the City of Santa Fe.
The second step will include the implementation by Habitat Argentina of the project “Developing Neighborhoods”, which combines several methodologies for the production of housing solutions, including “Habitat Tent”, “Seed House” and “Incremental Improvements.”
This partnership represents a way of improving and furthering the outreach of the work that Habitat Argentina carries out in Santa Fe, and will offer more families currently living in inadequate conditions the opportunity to access a solution to their housing problem.
