Habitat for Humanity Latin America and the Caribbean

Habitat for Humanity is a nongovernmental, non-profit organization which promotes community development through housing solutions. These housing solutions are not limited to complete houses, but also include repairs, additions, improvements, technical assistance, financing options, training and more.

The housing need in Latin America and the Caribbean is primarily qualitative, rather than quantitative. In other words, many people have somewhere to live, but it is this “somewhere” that lacks many of the elements of adequate shelter—such as secure tenure, affordability, sufficient space and access to basic services such as clean water, sanitation and health care.
