Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project -- Habitat for Humanity Int'l 1

Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project

As president of the United States, Jimmy Carter was deeply committed to social justice and basic human rights. He and his wife Rosalynn left the White House in search of meaningful ways to contribute in these areas. In addition to promoting peace and human rights through the nonprofit Carter Center in Atlanta, they lead the Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter Project for Habitat for Humanity International one week each year. In 2008, the event – formerly the Jimmy Carter Work Project (JCWP) - was renamed to also recognize Mrs. Carter’s years of dedicated service to help raise awareness and provide simple, decent and affordable housing in partnership with families in need. Please visit the following Web sites for more information about each of the Carter Projects and for information on how you can get involved!

The next event:

Carter Project 2009
will be held in the Mekong region: Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and China’s Sichuan Province during November 2009.
