Who’s painting in Charlotte, N.C.
Rebecca Aloisio, a past AmeriCorps volunteer and a McColl Center for Visual Art artist-in-residence, traded in her paint rollers for more delicate brushes to design a mural for Habitat Charlotte. What they’re celebrating in Berkeley, Calif.

The Habitat campus chapter at the University of California-Berkeley Campus Chapter of the Year in August by Habitat Humanity International. The campus chapter trains to serve as crew leaders for builds at Habitat East Bay in Oakland, Calif., and also leads an affordable housing course on its campus.

How they marked World Habitat Day

For October’s World Habitat Day, Habitat for Humanity International joined the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, UN-HABITAT, and the Rockefeller Foundation to raise awareness of poverty housing issues and solutions. A slate of events in the metro D.C. area — from a policy forum to volunteer build activities — anchored similar happenings around the world. Who’s partnering in New York City

As part of the affiliate’s ongoing Loan Rangers Public Awareness Campaign, Habitat New York City has teamed up with Staten Island district attorney Daniel Donovan for a series of seminars on mortgage issues, foreclosure rescue fraud and credit card debt relief. The 30-minute presentations are offered to congregations, schools and community groups and administered by Habitat volunteers and representatives of the district attorney’s office.
