Stories of a new family and friendships forged create the narrative of the winning entry in Habitat’s first Youth Leadership Conference film fest. The film, submitted by Washington College Habitat volunteers, was created during spring break 2013 when participants built in Albany and Columbus, Georgia.

“This type of contest is a fantastic way to share young people’s build stories from a unique and inspiring viewpoint,” says Chris Bertaut, Youth Leadership Conference advisory committee member.

Other finalists included submissions from the Big Build in Mekong, China; a Women Build event with Habitat Tompkins and Cortland Counties in Ithaca, New York; and a Collegiate Challenge trip with Randolph-Macon College Campus Chapter in Ashland, Virginia.
