The Dow Chemical Company

Dow has been a longtime supporter of the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, marking 30 years of collaboration with Habitat for Humanity International in 2013. In honor of this significant, long-term relationship, Dow’s anniversary year will culminate with participation as a Gold Sponsor of the 2013 Carter Work Project.

This year — in Oakland and San Jose, Calif.; Denver; and New York City — Dow volunteers will help improve homes and communities through new, energy-efficient construction and activities that span critical home repair, rehabilitation, weatherization and home preservation. Dow also is honoring employees who have been passionate volunteers by inviting them to participate in the New York City build and related activities.

As a proud and active Habitat partner, Dow offers its support to Habitat in many ways, including house sponsorship funding, donation of STYROFOAM™ extruded polystyrene insulation and other energy-efficient materials, and the priceless commitment of our employee/customer volunteer work crews who, over three decades, have donated countless thousands of hours at builds around the world.

As Habitat’s first corporate partner, Dow has been instrumental in the construction of more than 39,000 homes in 24 countries on six continents. In 2011 and 2012, Dow joined the Carters and hundreds of volunteers to help provide housing in earthquake-ravaged Haiti. In addition to financial and product contributions, Dow’s partnership with Habitat focuses on finding creative ways to leverage its products, people, and experience in energy efficiency and conservation to have a positive impact on the need for affordable housing.
