Habitat for Humanity’s Flexible Capital Access Program selected for ImpactAssets 50 2012

ATLANTA (Oct. 9, 2012) —Habitat for Humanity’s Flexible Capital Access Program (FlexCAP) was recently selected for the ImpactAssets 50 2012, an open-source, publicly published database of experienced private debt and equity impact investment fund managers.

FlexCAP is a Habitat for Humanity International administered program that enables participating Habitat affiliates to leverage their mortgage portfolios, thereby generating additional funding to produce decent, affordable housing in partnership with low-income families.

“We’re pleased to have been selected for the ImpactAssets 50 2012, and we are especially grateful to FlexCAP investors, whose support makes this program possible,” said Greg Skowronski, director of capital markets and financial systems for Habitat for Humanity International. “Through FlexCAP, we are expanding the financial resources available for Habitat for Humanity’s mission to end poverty housing.”

Through FlexCAP, Habitat for Humanity has developed a consistent secondary market for Habitat mortgages on a national basis. Since 1997, Habitat for Humanity International has raised approximately 140 million in investments that have been loaned to 270 U.S. affiliates. In its 15-year history, the program has a 100-percent on-time repayment rate.

The ImpactAssets 50 2012 is a resource for advisors and investors seeking to respond to the growing demand for investment opportunities that deliver both financial and social or environmental returns. For more information on the 2012 list, go to www.impactassets.org/impactassets-50.
