Las Vegas volunteers lay the foundation for a new home
National Women Build Week 2012: Las Vegas, Nevada

Saturday, May 12, 2012, was no ordinary day for Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas. It was the annual Lowe’s Home Improvement and Habitat for Humanity Women Build.
This year our volunteers had a special project: pre-framing the house for Habitat’s Home Builders Blitz. While the Blitz build will not take place until June 4, the connection between the two events is an exciting concept for Habitat Las Vegas.
Our 50 volunteers, a mix of long-time supporters and new participants, laid the foundation for a home, both literally and figuratively.
As we prepare for June, we know that it is this partnership between volunteers staff, and the community that will make our first year participating in the venture a great success.
Undoubtedly, National Women Build Week is a great event in itself, drawing attention to and support for the invaluable role that women play in our organization all year round.
