What is HabitatLearns?
A Web-based learning portal that gives users access to online courses, articles and resources that address housing issues around the world.
What happened to Habitat for Humanity University?
HFHU was taken offline on December 19, 2008, to be replaced by HabitatLearns. Starting January 21, 2009 you can access HabitatLearns at http://HabitatLearns.org.
What is the difference between HabitatLearns and Habitat for Humanity University?
HabitatLearns improves on HFHU with new learning technologies, enhanced online courses, articles and other downloadable resources.
Do I need to re-register for HabitatLearns if I’m already registered for Habitat for Humanity University?
Yes. All users will need to register after HabitatLearns launches on January 21, 2009. The registration process will take only a few minutes. Upon login, you will see the new catalog of courses and may enroll in any course available for open enrollment. Courses with conditional enrollment will include instructions on how to proceed.
What if I have saved bookmarks/favorites within Habitat for Humanity University?
Your HFHU bookmarks will no longer work once HabitatLearns debuts. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
How do I retrieve records of courses taken on Habitat for Humanity University?
Contact us at HabitatLearns@habitat.org. Please provide the course name and date, and we will search the archive for your data.
Is it possible to get college credit for taking HabitatLearns courses?
Currently, HabitatLearns courses are not transferrable for credit. Accreditation may be a goal of HabitatLearns in the future.
What about Habitat entities outside of North America?
HabitatLearns will be available to our international partners.
