Job Description
Habitat for Humanity International is currently seeking a Data Analyst for its Government Grants and Lending Resources department. The department transfers approximately $10 - $14 million in federal grants annually to Habitat affiliates to help expand their efforts to provide affordable housing for low-income families.
The Data Analyst will require a balance between data mining and analysis along with practical application. This role will require a self - starter and someone who forms a point of view and a prioritization based on inputs from many sources. This position will be based in HFHI's operational headquarters in Americus, GA.
Major Responsibilities include:
* Ensure the integrity of data, including extraction, processing, storage and analysis
* Use and support database applications and analytical tools to ensure quality data, applications and functions
* Collect and analyze grant performance data and input from multiple internal (HFHI departments) and external sources (eg, Habitat affiliated organizations, HUD, etc.) and organize them into actionable information tools.
* Working individually and within teams: will lead some projects, prepare assessments on key grant topics, respond to ad-hoc requests for grant data, communicate with the department director and grant managers and assist in determination of future data needs
• Produce intelligence reports by obtaining information from internal and external sources, assessing its value and preparing reports
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
* 3-5 years’ experience in analyzing federal grant data
* Strong analytical capabilities and experience in analyzing and presenting data and trends
* Strong problem-solving and application skills to develop effective solutions
* Proven experience working with large data sets in Microsoft Excel and/or relational database environment preferred
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* SQL experience desired
* Knowledge of federal grant management preferred
* Ability to gather data and information from a variety of resources through various avenues, i.e. discussions, report review, data and system analysis
*Ability to work cross-functionally, collaboratively and professionally to gain insight and produce reports
*Ability to prioritize effectively
* Aptitude for managing challenging situations
