Learning Technologies Manager, My.Habitat

Job Description

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a top candidate for the position of Learning Technologies Manager, My.Habitat. Reporting to the Director, Global Learning and Knowledge Systems, this position will focus on defining priorities for My.Habitat, and organizing and updating content in support of the new strategic plan. The work will also include making improvements as needed for US and global use. My.Habitat is Habitat for Humanity’s intranet or internal platform used to distribute information, learning and communication resources to staff, members of affiliated organizations and volunteers.

Main responsibilities:

• As part of annual planning processes, work with Subject Matter Experts to define priorities for publishing content on MH.

• Use reliable processes for assessing needs, designing MH solutions, publishing content and tagging resources

• Provide initial training and on-going coaching for publishers in areas of home page design and content for My.Habitat.

• Ensure that quality standards for selection of content, writing and editing are consistently achieved.

• Monitor sites to determine if content needs to be updated or deleted.

• Administer My.Habitat publishers team site.

• Conduct research with users to assess frequency of use, the degree to which MH is meeting expectations and define priorities for enhancements.

• Serve as an advisor for learning technologies and ensure that MH resources for selected content areas are integrated appropriately with other learning and communications strategies.

Job Requirements

• Ability to balance  innovative thinking with practical learning and knowledge sharing solutions
• Demonstrated knowledge of technology and ability to work effectively with IT staff
• Experience in  building and revising websites
• In-depth understanding and use of  SharePoint and MS Office products
• Experience with digital publishing and Adobe Creative Suite preferred
•  Ability to build strong relationships across a diverse group of publishers and users; strong desire and ability to work collaboratively to achieve goals and objectives
• Experience in managing complex projects across locations and multiple cultures
• Proven track record of  using effective consultative skills and processes
•  Self-directed learner—eager to build capabilities that will lead to continuous improvement of MH and related technologies
• Experience with the analysis, design, development, and  implementation of learning solutions
• Master’s degree in learning/knowledge management technologies, or closely related field, a plus
• Knowledge of Habitat’s global mission, a plus
• English required; knowledge of Spanish or French, a plus
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum 3-5 years related experience
