Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna, Inc. (HHS) is an ecumenical Christian housing organization devoted to building and repairing homes in partnership with qualifying families. HHS is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit supported by government, community and private funding.

Position description: Habitat for Humanity Susquehanna, Inc. is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented, experienced professional to serve as the executive director. The executive director is the strategic leader of the organization, working in partnership with the board of directors, community partners, and volunteers to fulfill the mission and goals of HHS. Primary responsibilities include strategic and operational planning, fundraising, program development, management and evaluation, budget development and oversight, staff supervision, policy and procedure compliance, community outreach, marketing and board support.

The executive director will assume leadership of a vibrant organization that serves diverse communities in Harford and Cecil Counties in Maryland. HHS is seeking someone who can build upon a long and successful track record in quality house production and home repairs, fundraising, and expanded community partnerships.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, communication, social work or related field.

Experience: Prefer five to seven years’ experience in nonprofit management, including successful fundraising efforts and community outreach.

Knowledge and skills: Comprehensive understanding of and ability to effectively articulate the overall mission and vision of the organization; excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective public speaking; ability to work well independently; ability to exercise good judgment and sound reasoning in decision making; ability to work collaboratively with others; ability to supervise staff and manage budgets; strong organizational and computer literacy skills.

Compensation: Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience.
