Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. The purpose and goal of Habitat for Humanity International is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses in partnership with families in need.

Habitat for Humanity has an Operational Headquarters in Americus, Georgia and an Administrative Headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and is a global, non-profit ministry where our employees build futures and lives.

Job Description

Organization
Habitat for Humanity is an international organization founded on the belief that every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live. Since 1976, Habitat International has helped build or repair more than 600,000 houses worldwide and served more than 3 million people.

Located in the city of Rochester, Flower City Habitat for Humanity is a highly successful affiliate of this international organization. Since its inception in 1984, Flower City Habitat for Humanity has built or rehabilitated more than 200 homes in the city of Rochester. The organization is currently seeking a strong CEO to continue the mission of eliminating substandard and poverty housing in Rochester.

Duties
Reporting directly to the board of directors, the CEO will provide strategic and operational leadership to an organization that builds homes for needy families in the city of Rochester. Focus will be on fundraising, planning and execution of all aspects of residential construction, staff leadership and development, fiscal management, government and community relations, donor and volunteer recruitment, and oversight of the Habitat ReStore retail operation. The organization currently has a budget in excess of $2 million annually, a direct staff of 20 and a large constituency of volunteers.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in an executive leadership role with responsibility for an entire business enterprise.
  • Experience in fundraising and donor development and an understanding and appreciation of the goals and objectives of Flower City Habitat for Humanity are paramount.
  • Executive leadership and a proven record of accomplishment in either the profit or the nonprofit sector is required.
