NY, Rochester - In-Kind Procurement Associate

Job Description

Flower City Habitat for Humanity is looking for an in-kind procurement associate. Flower City Habitat for Humanity has a 29-year history of transforming communities and building more than 200 homes in Rochester, N.Y. We are looking for an outgoing, team-player who is at home in both the building community and the development community to help us secure in-kind materials and services for Habitat’s home construction program and product for sale at its Habitat ReStore home improvement outlet.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Conduct research and obtain contact information on potential corporate and small business donors.
  • Attend trade shows and participate in relevant area groups.
  • Articulate the case for support so donors engage and support the mission and vision of Flower City Habitat for Humanity.
  • Utilize donor perfect contact management system track solicitation calls/visits and results.
  • Develop and cultivate a prospect donor database.
  • Work with development, construction, and Habitat ReStore team to call on current and potential donors and vendors to increase quality and quantity of donations.
  • Coordinate donation pick-ups.
  • Provide exemplary customer service.
  • Work with the development department to establish and implement in-kind donor recognition program.
  • Provide monthly written reports regarding the outcome of cultivation and solicitation actions.
  • Adhere to guidelines for acceptable donations for construction and Habitat ReStore purposes.
  • Participate in Flower City Habitat for Humanity fundraising events and house dedications.
  • Special projects or assignments as requested and/or other duties as may be assigned.

Skills:

  • Experience with a donor management system, such as Donor Perfect.
  • Strong customer service and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of construction industry.
  • Willingness to make cold calls.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Demonstrated success working in a team environment and independently.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Willingness to work some evenings/weekends.
  • Experience in construction/retail/sales related businesses.
