Social Media and Communications Volunteer

Job Description
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is seeking a dedicated volunteer for our Tithe Department. Reporting to the Director of Affiliate Tithe, this position will provide support in cultivating relationships with U.S. Habitat affiliates and promoting the program through innovative communication strategies. It is possible for this assignment to be based at our office in Atlanta or Americus, GA or based remotely.
ABOUT TITHING AT HABITAT: A tithe within Habitat for Humanity is the same as the biblical definition of tithe – to take 10% of what we have been blessed with and give it back to God, and back to the ministry. Through Habitat’s tithe program, Habitat affiliates are not only eliminating poverty housing from their own communities but also eliminating poverty housing in communities around the world.
This assignment entails:
*Providing administrative support to the Director of Affiliate Tithe
*Building a rapport and cultivating gifts from U.S. affiliates via emails, phone calls, social media and direct marketing
*Co-authoring tithe communication pieces, including quarterly letters to affiliates
*Maintaining program home page on My.Habitat, internal knowledge management system
*Managing Habitat’s tithe Twitter account (https://twitter.com/HabitatTithe)
Job Requirements
*College degree or equivalent experience
*Experience working or volunteering with Habitat for Humanity a plus
*Strong understanding of social media and ability to market program through such networks
*Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
*Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills
*Team player who is organized and attentive to detail
