Habitat for Humanity Honduras celebrates 15.000 dreams coming true

SAN PEDRO SULA (July 31) – Over the years Habitat Honduras has managed to fulfill dreams and demonstrate the love of God and the His faith in action by building 15 thousand adequate houses that have come to improve the lives of many low-income families.

Habitat for Humanity Honduras works to reduce the housing deficit in the country, with the commitment of volunteers, churches, corporations, suppliers, media and associated families, through 7 regional offices and other sister organizations, managing to serve more than 75,000 Hondurans.

Torre Nelson, Vice President of Habitat for Humanity Latin America and the Caribbean joined the celebration. Along him was the businessman Emilio Larach who represents the Larach & Co company, he donated 50,000 at the event as a sign of support for Habitat Honduras to continue with the construction of housing projects. This company committed to providing the same amount twice a year during a five years period. Similarly, the entrepreneur Jorge Bueso, West Bank representative, presented a 100,000 donation to a housing project in Santa Rosa de Copan, Honduras.

Habitat Honduras celebrates - what along with many volunteers, donors and families- have built with much effort. The construction of 15 000 houses, 15 000 dreams, 15 000 homes, and thousands of smiles and hopes inspires the organization to continue working towards the fulfillment of their vision.

This event also serves as a prelude to the celebration of International Youth Day, which will include the participation of many young people from all regions of the country on a walk through the first street of San Pedro Sula to Central Park where they culminate a cultural event.
