Integral Housing Intervention in the Central American Dry Corridor
In Latin America and the Caribbean, we conducted the study “Characterization of the Dry Corridor in Central America’s Northern Triangle” to understand the environmental and climate change impacts on the population’s living conditions in this area, directly related to the right to adequate housing.
We wanted to understand the problems that afflict more than 22 million people who face great economic, social, and environmental vulnerability.
Following the results, at Habitat, we have proposed an articulated regional approach and strategic programmatic initiatives to mitigate the threats and vulnerabilities in this territory as a means to improve the living conditions of its population.
Intervención integral en vivienda en el Corredor Seco centroamericano
En América Latina y el Caribe, realizamos el estudio “Caracterización del Corredor Seco del Triángulo Norte de Centroamérica” para conocer los impactos ambientales y del cambio climático en las condiciones de vida de la población de esta zona, directamente relacionados con el derecho a una vivienda digna.
Queríamos entender los problemas que aquejan a los más de 22 millones de habitantes, quienes enfrentan una gran vulnerabilidad económica, social y ambiental.
A partir de los resultados, en Hábitat hemos propuesto un enfoque regional articulado e iniciativas programáticas estratégicas para mitigar las amenazas y vulnerabilidades en este territorio para mejorar las condiciones de vida de su población.
