MLK Day of Service
"Life's most persistent and urgent question is: 'What are you doing for others?'" —Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Each year, on the third Monday in January, Americans across the country answer that question by coming together on the King holiday to serve their neighbors and communities.
The MLK Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President's national call to service initiative. It calls for Americans from all walks of life to work together for the day to help address some of our nation’s most pressing social issues, such as poverty, hunger and homelessness.
Habitat for Humanity affiliates and AmeriCorps members will participate in various activities to benefit local communities during the 2014 Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.
