The meaning of the Carter Work Project:
As we wrap up our time here in Haiti, we think about the truly moving experience that this week has been. On behalf of our entire team, we are so thankful to have been able to come to Haiti and help build, but realize that the experience is not over.
When we go home and share with friends and family the details of this trip, we will tell them that the rebuilding journey in Haiti is far from over. We will tell them how meaningful and worthwhile this trip was and how lucky we are to have met Sagaille and Delva, our partner families.
We will share with them how last year’s families are faring one year later. We will talk about all the amazing people we heard from on the bus, in the dining hall and on site.
We will discuss the great work the Carters are doing. We will celebrate the fact that we took action and let them know that we all have to keep taking action in order for this country to further rebound.
