What is a ReStore?
Each of the 825 Habitat ReStores in the United States and Canada:
- Accepts donations of new and gently-used building materials and household goods.
- Sells those items to the public at a fraction of the retail price.
- Uses the proceeds to achieve Habitat’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope.
- Does it all with the help of volunteers.
Each ReStore is operated by a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate and each one is unique. Most ReStores focus on home improvement goods like furniture, home accessories, building materials and appliances
Donate, shop, volunteer

Corporate donations of materials
Would your company like to donate a large quantity of building materials, furniture, appliances or other items to Habitat for Humanity?
Please email Habitat’s Gifts in Kind team at giftsinkind@habitat.org. The Gifts in Kind team can help arrange large one-time donations or develop ongoing partnerships.
Good for the environment; good for your community.
In addition to raising funds for Habitat’s mission, ReStores provide an environmentally- and socially-responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of landfills.
In the 25 years that Habitat ReStores have been operating, countless tons have been diverted from the waste stream.
Whether you are looking for a convenient place to donate, a rewarding place to volunteer, or a great deal on that one-of-a-kind item, make sure to check out your local Habitat ReStore.
