Habitat on the Hill is Habitat for Humanity’s annual legislative and advocacy conference held in Washington, D.C.

The people and the purpose

During Habitat on the Hill 2009, nearly 190 Habitat supporters and advocates representing more than 40 states joined Habitat CEO, Jonathan Reckford, on Capitol Hill. The group learned more about Habitat’s legislative priorities and visited members of Congress and their staffs to discuss key issues.

Speakers

Distinguished speakers included U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Deputy Secretary Ron Sims; Representative John Lewis of Georgia; Senator Jeff Merkley of Oregon; and Habitat for Humanity International board members Ken Klein and Henry Cisneros.
