Three Communities Accept the Challenge
Valdosta, Georgia
Valdosta/Lowndes County Habitat for Humanity is part of a local coalition that has surveyed housing needs in Lowndes County and is mobilizing resources to eliminate substandard housing by the year 2020. Twenty-five houses will be built during JCWP 2003.
Anniston, Alabama
In Anniston, halfway between Birmingham, Ala., and Atlanta, Ga., Habitat for Humanity of Calhoun County has partnered with 70 local families since it was founded in 1994. To meet its ambitious goals for building, each year the affiliate hosts high school and college students and RV Care-a-Vanners from all over the U.S. Family partners and volunteers will build 35 houses during JCWP 2003.
LaGrange, Georgia
During JCWP 2003 Habitat for Humanity of Troup/Chambers County will be building 32 residences. The affiliate currently builds five or six houses a year, but plans to soon double its annual production.
