Kjonna Walker wasn’t sure what to expect when JCWP building first began. “I wasn’t sure what to think, but I’m more relaxed than I was before,” she says. “It’s amazing to go from nothing to almost-your-house in days.”
Kjonna Walker works with volunteers to haul materials for her house.
Working alongside volunteers this week, particularly her house leader, has been a great source of inspiration for Kjonna. “Our house leader puts his heart and soul into it. He’s a perfectionist,” she says. “He’s motivated all of us to do an exceptional job.”
Although her son is too young to help build, Kjonna has brought him by the build site to show him the house. And she is already daydreaming about what life will be like once they move, including lots of get-togethers with friends. “There will be a lot of happy times in this house,” she says.
