The Harris family
‘My dream has become reality’
2010 is a time of transition for Cheryl Harris and her 22-year-old daughter, Candace.
For starters, the mother and daughter will soon own a Habitat house, one that will be rehabbed through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
“One of my biggest goals has always been to be blessed as a homeowner,” Harris said. “With the help of Habitat for Humanity, my dream has become reality.”
Harris, who graduated from Gardendale High School, is a receptionist at a local dental office. Now she hopes to go back to school.
In her free time, Harris likes to spend time with her four grandchildren and enjoys taking them to the movies. She is also happy to have her daughter at home with her. Candace works at Interstate Brand Corp., and she and her mom are searching for a new church home together—their old church had to close earlier this year.
It’s a time of transitions—and new beginnings.
