Habitat for Humanity International elects Eduardo Tabush as new board treasurer
Habitat for Humanity has elected Eduardo Tabush, CEO of Meritage Assets Corporation and Joomlashack.com, as treasurer of the organization’s international board of directors.
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala (February 15, 2012) – Habitat for Humanity International is pleased to announce that Eduardo Tabush, CEO of Meritage Assets Corporation and Joomlashack.com, has been elected treasurer of Habitat’s international board of directors.
“It is an exciting time to be a part of Habitat,” said Tabush. “In the 15 years that Habitat has been a part of my life, I have been privileged to see how it has evolved and improved. I am convinced that we are at the threshold of a new stage in our evolution—one that will allow us, in our continued partnership with God, to increase the reach of our program exponentially.”
Habitat’s 20-member board is responsible for establishing policy and guiding the organization’s efforts to construct, rehabilitate, repair and improve housing in partnership with low-income families in nearly 80 countries around the world.
“Eduardo has served faithfully on Habitat’s board of directors for the past four years,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “We are grateful for his leadership and expertise and his dedication and commitment to addressing affordable housing issues.”
Tabush is a serial entrepreneur having founded several companies. He has worked extensively with Habitat for Humanity in Guatemala. Tabush received a bachelor’s degree from Babson College in the U.S. He is a fellow of the Central America Leadership Initiative and the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
Habitat board members volunteer for two-year terms that can be renewed up to four times.
