On August 26, 2026, a glacial collapse triggered catastrophic flash floods along Nepal’s Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river valleys, sweeping through villages across Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading with little warning. Hundreds of people have been confirmed dead, thousands remain missing, and an estimated 10,000 families have lost their homes. Search and rescue efforts are still ongoing. Habitat for Humanity Nepal’s team is on the ground, distributing emergency shelter kits to displaced families and preparing for the months of rebuilding ahead.
