These FAQs are for team leaders organizing a private group build.
Each Global Village private group build is led by a team leader from the group who is responsible for recruiting and preparing the team, coordinating with Habitat staff and supporting the team throughout the Global Village experience.
Team leaders are considered Habitat representatives and work collaboratively to achieve Habitat’s global vision where everyone has a decent place to live.
To qualify as a team leader, individuals must meet the following criteria:
Must be at least 24 years old.
Complete and submit the team leader application form.
Pass criminal and sex offender background checks.
Obtain CPR and first-aid certifications.
Complete Habitat’s virtual team leader training course.
To get started as a team leader for your private group build, email [email protected]. We are not accepting applications for Global Village open build team leaders at this time.
Applications may take up to four weeks to process. This period allows Habitat staff to review the applications, conduct criminal and sex offender background checks and give new leaders time to complete the team leader training course.
Most teams require six to nine months to recruit a team and prepare for a build.
