-
Each Global Village team is led by a volunteer team leader who supports and guides the majority of the Global Village experience. The team leader is responsible for recruiting the team members, fundraising, emergency management and facilitating discussions between volunteers and Habitat for Humanity. Team leaders are considered representatives and work collaboratively to achieve Habitat’s global vision where everyone has a decent place to live.
-
To qualify as a team leader, individuals must meet the following criteria:
- Must be at least 24 years old.
- Complete and submit the team leader application form.
- Pass criminal and sex offender background checks.
- Obtain CPR and first-aid certifications.
- Complete Habitat’s virtual team leader training course.
-
Applications may take up to four weeks to process. This period allows Habitat staff to review the applications, conduct criminal and sex offender background checks and give new leaders time to complete the team leader training course.

Most teams require six to nine months to prepare for a build.
