This full-time AmeriCorps service position offers a great opportunity to make a real impact in the lives of others while building your own knowledge and skillset.

AmeriCorps VISTA members are Volunteers in Service to America who perform indirect service to build capacity and sustainability solutions.

What will you do?

The goal for the resource development VISTA is to create, document, and implement a plan for donor engagement, tracking, and recognition to increase the overall donor experience as it relates to volunteerism, in-kind donations, and philanthropic giving. The plan will include the development of marketing strategies to attract new volunteers who can be potentially converted to donors, increase ReStore donations, and increase philanthropic giving by raising community awareness of the work of Habitat Greensboro.

*Audit and evaluate existing marketing practices for volunteer recruitment, ReStore donations, and resource development. Explore what aspects need improvement by talking with staff, committee members, and comparing findings with current methods of other affiliates and similar local agencies.
*Research, develop and implement social media and print engagement opportunities with various constituencies and target markets.
*Develop, document and implement a comprehensive marketing plan, including targeting local individuals, businesses, faith organizations, school groups, civic groups and other community organizations. Reference resources available from Habitat for Humanity International and other area affiliates to inform the plan.
*Develop, document and implement a social media content calendar including a planning timeline for each event and marketing goal.
*Develop and document event marketing materials as needed. Create templates that can be used in the future.

This position will focus on brand management aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Habitat Greensboro is centrally located in North Carolina’s picturesque heartland. *Annual living allowance range from $13,399 to $26,798, determined by the service location; most locations are on the lower end of this range.
*Segal Education Award of $6,345, upon successful completion of service.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must hold one of the following citizenship statuses: US citizen, US National, Lawful Permanent Resident Aliens or is a person residing in a state that have the following legal residency classifications: refugee, asylum or asylee, temporary protected status, or deferred action for childhood arrivals (DACA) status. Applicants must be at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.

*Knowledge of, and willingness to promote, the mission and activities of Habitat for Humanity International and AmeriCorps.
*Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
*Strong written and verbal communication skills.
*Strong research skills.
*Detail oriented and highly organized.
*Experience working as a member of a team.
*Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
