AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The Youth and Young Adult Volunteer Services Coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize local youth volunteers. They will also recruit and host collegiate challenge volunteer teams and manage the partnerships with campus chapters.
- Assist in the development and/or revision of the volunteer recruitment, management, and recognition tools.
- Recruit Collegiate Challenge Teams for the fall, winter, and spring break trips.
- Secure lodging for Collegiate Challenge Teams.
- Assist in hosting responsibilities of Collegiate Challenge Teams, including, but not limited to making daily site visits, Habitat orientation, check in/out of lodging, welcome Dinner, celebration lunch, and team recognition on social media platforms.
- Create and coordinate all activities for campus chapter groups at local high schools, colleges, and universities.
- Create and implement non-construction youth group projects and work with schools to provide opportunities for students to complete community service requirements.
- Present curriculum and presentations for informational sessions in schools and churches on the topic of affordable housing and the work Habitat Charlotte does in the community.
- Assist the family services team with lot selection and the planning and execution of various partner family events.
- Assist the Volunteer Services team with volunteer appreciation.
This position will focus on volunteer services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

- Activities and attractions: Our offices and AmeriCorps apartments are less than 15 minutes away from uptown Charlotte, a three-hour drive from the beaches of North and South Carolina, and a two-hour drive from the Blue Ridge Mountains.
- Unique projects: AmeriCorps members serving this term will support our organization before, during, and after Habitat for Humanity International’s Carter Work Project held in October 2023.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
