Habitat for Humanity International is calling on delegates at the world’s premiere climate change conference to ensure efforts to reduce carbon emissions don’t raise the cost of housing while also helping the most vulnerable families adapt their homes to withstand rising seas, extreme temperatures and increasingly intense weather events.
Earlier this year, The Annie Selke Companies donated $1 million dollars in rugs and bedding to their local Habitat for Humanity in support of affordable housing in Western Massachusetts. Now the company is expanding that partnership to help families around the world build strength and stability through shelter.
Continuing its three-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, Lazy Dog committed a minimum donation of $100,000 this year to support the global housing nonprofit’s mission.
The donation, made through the Larson Family Foundation, will substantially help further Habitat’s vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Habitat for Humanity International is pleased to announce the election of Salesforce President and Chief Financial Officer Amy Weaver and the Right Reverend Robert C. Wright, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta, to its board of directors.
More than 560 Habitat for Humanity organizations from all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia sign letter to congressional leadership.
The recycling initiative begins June 1 and invites 140 local Habitat organizations to work with their local civic groups, businesses and community partners to improve sustainability in their communities.
