Habitat distributes hotel vouchers at Ukrainian border, activates plan to help refugees with shelter needs in four countries

Habitat for Humanity this week began distributing hotel vouchers to families fleeing the violence in Ukraine as we ramp up our efforts to reduce the vulnerability of refugees and meet their shelter needs in Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia.

A return to home: Rebuilding in Puerto Rico

After Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico in 2017, Antero and Luz worked to repair their damaged home the best they could, even patching their own roof. Now, with the support of Habitat and AbbVie, they have a safe and secure home where their family can gather again.

Wesco International expands partnership with Habitat for Humanity

Wesco’s contributions will support worldwide projects including Habitat’s Home Equals advocacy campaign, the funding of an energy-efficient home in Chiapas, Mexico, team builds in the U.S. and Canada and sponsorship of the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project.

A bright new beginning

José started a new career in construction after attending Habitat Builds Puerto Rico, a 5 1/2-week program established with the support of AbbVie that trains students interested in entering the construction industry.

Funded by The Home Depot Foundation, Habitat’s Repair Corps program looks to build, repair or rehabilitate an additional 170 veteran-owned homes this year.

Habitat for Humanity International, Lowe’s and approximately 6,000 women volunteers will unite in more than 235 communities in the United States, India and Canada for International Women Build Week, March 1-8, to highlight the global need for safe and affordable housing.
